Welcome to Our Evidence Based Practices

Harm reduction is an evidence-based approach that is critical to engaging with people who use drugs and equipping them with life-saving tools and information to create positive change in their lives and potentially save their lives.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is used widely today in addiction treatment. CBT teaches those in treatment for a substance use disorder (SUD) to find connections between their thoughts, feelings, and actions and increase awareness of how these things impact recovery.

Trauma-informed care (TIC) is based on the idea that most people have experienced trauma and that it needs to be considered when receiving care. Trauma-informed practices can potentially improve patient engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcomes, as well as provider and staff wellness.

Cultural competence is not just about acquiring knowledge of other cultures; it’s also about understanding one’s own cultural context and the impact it has on interactions with others. Cultural Competence is defined as the ability to work effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds.

It all begins with an idea.

Provide sober living equally, regardless of persons nationality, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, race, current housing or financial resources, mental illness, prescribed medication, and criminal record.

It all begins with an idea.

To increase the number of sober beds in New England for the most vulnerable in our community.

It all begins with an idea.

Change the current definition of sobriety, treatment, and sober living.

It all begins with an idea.

To reduce the stigma struggling individuals face regarding substance abuse and mental illness.

It all begins with an idea.

Employ a new approach in sober living welcoming various definitions and paths to achieving lasting sobriety.

It all begins with an idea.

To eliminate the marginalization and discrimination many people experience when asking for help.

Favorite Poet - Maya Angelou

Quote attributed to Maya Angelou: "If you are always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be" alongside a photo of Maya Angelou speaking into a microphone, wearing sunglasses, earrings, and a gold necklace.
Woman with gray hair speaking at a podium with a sign that says "CHANGE NEED" and a web address. The quote on the image reads: 'If you are going down a road and don't like what's in front of you, and look behind you and don't like what you see, get off the road. Create a new path! - Maya Angelou'.
